The book is full of colorful illustrations and the illustrator is great at expressing the emotions of the characters. The goats come off as mean and tough and the troll is actually cute! Readers should be familiar with the original for the book to really be funny. I think for older readers who know the tale, this could be a great read-it could also be a good opening on story retellings.
