by Margaret Mayo, illustrated by Alex Ayliffe. Dinosaurs stomp, zoom, whack, gulp, charge and stroll through the pages, which are filled with large, colorful cut-paper collage illustrations. A fun book to read aloud, the lengthy dinosaur names do nothing to interrupt the superb cadence:
Wrinkly Triceratops loved
charge, charge, charging,
thumpety-thump!
Huge feet pounding, horns jutting,
and -- wham! -- head-butting.
So charge, Triceratops, charge.
This will be a fun book to share at story times -- vocabulary, phonological awareness, print awareness -- all are supported, but more importantly, kids will love stomping, chanting and acting out this delightful book!
