Momo Tama: Volume 4

by Nanae Chrono, 170 pages

The island-jackers' demands are met with scorn from the ailing former head of the Momotaro clan...or rather, from the adorable bunny he consigns his soul to when he knows his body won't hold out long enough to get his people through the crisis.

Elsewhere on the island, and unaware of the invaders, Kokonose, Kashii, and Kou-sensei are hiding while they discuss how to deal with the cranky old-school ogre outside. But when Kashii gets nabbed in a case of mistaken identity by some unknown guys in a helicopter, the other two figure out that something other than wild ogres is up and change the plan. Kokonose decides to make use of Kou-sensei's ability to transform into a powerful weapon, even though the soul-binding ritual is only supposed to be performed with the Chairman, whose currently a hostage on one of the invaders' ships.

But will Kokonose really be able to control weaponized Kou-sensei? How will the Chairman take the news of someone else taking his place in the driver's seat? And will Kashii learn to find his own inner strength before he loses friends and teachers to the hijackers' violence?

This series continues to be confusing and corny and cool. And that bunny is seriously cute.
