Train and River meet Eve and Kevin in front of Creed's island mansion. They fight their way in only to have Creed, himself, come down to greet them. He'd planned on renewing his offer of partnership to Train, but when he sees the non-crazy expression on the sweeper's face, the villain is incensed--he wants to see bloodlust and the killer instinct, not the calm, rational gaze he's presented with. Off Creed storms, angry that Train might actually force him to kill him. The gang goes after him, but first they'll have to get through a few more Apostles--and Creed's scary, world-warping doctor, who thinks it's fun to mess with the brains of a pair of innocent sweepers and then set them on their colleagues.
Self-sacrifice is a common theme in this series. Good people are throwing themselves in harm's way for the sake of others left and right. Luckily, most of them survive.
